Brigadier General MATTHEW S. CANTORE

Brig. Gen. Matthew S. Cantore is the Chief of Current Operations, U.S. Space Command, headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.

As the Chief of Current Operations, Brig. Gen. Cantore is responsible to the Director, Global Operations for all space operations conducted within the space area of responsibility within the zero-to-six-month time horizon. Additionally, he oversees all crisis response, human space flight support, direction and control, and special operations integration for forces assigned to U.S. Space Command.

Brig. Gen. Cantore is a 1998 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy with a degree in space operations. He is a Master space operations officer and has commanded 3rd Space Experimentation Squadron, 21st Operations Group and Space Delta 2.

Brig. Gen. Cantore’s staff assignments include positions at The Joint Staff; 14th Air Force and Joint Force Component Command – Space; Headquarters U.S. Air Force; Headquarters Air Force Space Command; Headquarters Space Operations Command; and U.S. Space Command.

Prior to his current position, Brig. Gen. Cantore served as the Director, Combat Power, at Headquarters Space Operations Command.
