Brigadier General KRISTIN L. PANZENHAGEN

Brig. Gen. Kristin L. Panzenhagen is the Military Deputy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. As Military Deputy, she is responsible for acquiring combat-credible space systems and integrating them into warfighting architectures, and for developing and managing the Space Force’s acquisition workforce.

As Military Deputy, Brig. Gen. Panzenhagen supports the Assistant Secretary in leading acquisition of Department of the Air Force space systems and programs to deliver combat-ready capabilities to the Joint Force. Her responsibilities include crafting acquisition strategies, guiding Department of War investments, promoting unity of effort across government and industry, and representing Department of the Air Force positions to the office of the Secretary of Defense, Congress, and the White House.

Brig. Gen. Panzenhagen entered the Air Force as a Distinguished Graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Purdue University in 2000. She began her career as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer, then transitioned to the developmental engineering career field, where she performed aircraft propulsion and structures research and executed space launch and on-orbit satellite operations. She has managed multi-domain command and control, missile warning and defense, and satellite ground enterprise programs, and has led the Space Force’s launch and on-orbit servicing, mobility, and logistics portfolios. She commanded the National Air and Space Intelligence Center’s Foreign Materiel Exploitation Squadron and the Space Force’s Space Launch Delta 45. She has also worked national-level space policy at the National Reconnaissance Office.

General Panzenhagen deployed to Saudi Arabia as an aircraft maintenance officer for Operation Southern Watch, to Iraq as part of a contingency contracting team for Operation Iraqi Freedom, and again to Iraq as the National Reconnaissance Office lead in Iraq for Operation New Dawn.
