Lt. Gen. Douglas Schiess was confirmed by the Senate to serve as the next Chief of Space Operations as the domain becomes increasingly contested and critical to national security. Schiess, who currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Space Operations for Operations, will succeed Gen.
