DEL 15 activates final subordinate squadron: 15th CYS
U.S. Space Force Lt. Col. Megan Belger, incoming 15th Cyberspace Squadron commander, gives remarks next to the organization’s newly revealed emblem during an activation ceremony at Schriever Space Force Base, Colo., Oct. 20, 2023. The Canis Major background represents National Space Defense Center’s vast responsibility for all on-orbit space operations defense, with the red stars highlighting the tri-organizational foundation for the unit, while re-iterating the war dog mindset. The Molossian war dog represents 15th CYS Guardians who provide sentry and patrol in the battlespace, with the lightning bolt located at the collar representing ties to the USSF’s Space Delta 6 – Cyber mission. The binary-clad Earth represents the vast global interconnection of cyberspace elements which 15th CYS must master and control. The mission of the 15th CYS is to conduct intelligence-driven cyberspace defensive operations with mission partners to assure the National Space Defense Center’s mission by identifying, preventing denying, and eliminating threats.
