  • Second IG Disparity Review Survey coming

    Beginning April 9, the Department of the Air Force will be seeking feedback through a survey for the second ongoing Inspector General Independent Disparity Review.

  • PT test pushed to July, updates to scoring, physical components ahead

    When assessments resume, the three-component fitness test (1.5 mile run, 1 minute of pushups and situps) will be reset with scores calculated on a new three component scoring table. In addition, work is underway to separate scoring into five-year age groups as opposed to the previous ten – for example, age groups will start at <25, 25-29 years old, 30-34, years old, etc.
  • Air Force announces officer stratification guidance

    “As we execute Action Order A (Airman), we must remain focused on a culture of transparency,” said Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr. “By strengthening our officer stratification policy, we are meeting that intent. This step is necessary to give officers a full understanding of where they stand amongst their peers as well as help better inform our talent management decisions.”

  • Department of the Air Force Leaders direct second IG Disparity Review

    The review follows the department’s 2020 Racial Disparity Review released in Dec. 2020 and expands its focus into three additional racial categories (Asian, American Indian/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander), gender, and one additional ethnic category (Hispanic/Latinx).
  • Four Airmen and Guardians among BEYA winners, CSAF gives keynote

    Four Department of the Air Force service members were selected as recipients of the Military Service Award during the 2021 Black Engineer of the Year Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics conference in Washington, D.C., Feb. 12, 2021. The four individuals were recognized for their accomplishments and mentorship in the STEM career fields during the Stars and Stripes event.

    Senior leaders are focused on building and growing resilience by establishing a task force called Operation Arc Care. This task force is currently reviewing resilience programs and overarching strategy using a phased approach which began in November.

    The Department of the Air Force announced it is establishing policy to comply with the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2020 and newly released DoDI 1320.14 requiring all services to furnish adverse information to promotion boards considering officers for promotion to the regular grades of O-4 and above, and to all reserve active status promotion boards to the grades of O-6 and above.

    John P. Roth will serve as the Acting Secretary of the Air Force as of Jan. 20, 2021 until the President nominates and the Senate confirms a permanent replacement.
